Abstract

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of theoretical and normative approaches to the characteristics of professional competencies in terms of readiness for self-organization of a teacher of a higher education institution. Theoretical methods of research of scientific and pedagogical, normative and legal literature of the educational field were applied to the scientific investigation. The main provisions on labor functions, professional competence and ways of improving qualifications of the Laws of Ukraine “On Education”, “On Higher Education” and the Professional Standard “Teacher of a Higher Education Institution” are analyzed and presented. Labor functions and corresponding professional competencies of a teacher of a higher education institution are analyzed in detail.

It is emphasized that the set of professional competencies, experience and personal qualities that are necessary for the effective performance of labor functions become the basis for the readiness for self-organization of a teacher of a higher education institution. The correspondence of the effectiveness of labor functions and competencies of a teacher of a higher education institution is established by professional standards that focus on the requirements for a specialist and the quality indicators of his pedagogical/scientific and pedagogical activities.

The analysis of theoretical and normative approaches to the characterization of professional competencies in terms of readiness for self-organization of a teacher of a higher education institution made it possible to define professional competencies as a formed set of professional and special (industry) knowledge, techniques, rational organization of individual professional activity, which is realized in the ability and effectiveness of the implementation of professional tasks. It is emphasized that the readiness for self-organization of a teacher of a higher education institution involves the compilation and dynamic interaction of the qualities of the personality of a professional in the educational field, which becomes the basis for determining his internal motivations and potential for effective personal/professional self-organization.
