Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of key aspects of the formation of the professional position of a future specialist. The contradiction between the social role that a future specialist should perform according to his professional status and the real professional position of future specialists is highlighted. It is noted that the significance of the social role and status of a specialist create the prerequisites for a comprehensive study of the ways of forming the professional position of a future specialist in the process of studying at a higher education institution.
The category “professional position of the individual” is analyzed as a multi-component system containing key characteristics of this category in terms of pedagogical, psychological, philosophical, sociological and andragogical aspects. An analysis of the scientific achievements of classical scientists (K. Albukhanova-Slavskaya, O. Baranova, B. Bratus, M. Dementieva, O. Litovka, G. Kholodova) is presented in terms of highlighting various aspects of the professional position as an integrative characteristic of personality development. At the same time, a theoretical analysis is provided in the context of modern scientific discourse, where modern researchers consider the professional position as an obligatory component of professional competence and professional culture (S. Vershlovsky, I. Kolesnikova, K. Vaganova, N. Kuzmina, V. Semichenko, etc.).
It is summarized that the set of perceived social, spiritual and professional values, positive professional activity, readiness for personal creative contribution to one's professional field, a sense of responsibility and a desire for continuous self-development and self-realization outline one of the important aspects in the formation of a professional position - a value attitude.
The professional position is updated because of professional growth, which should be based on high-quality formal education, competencies adopted from master specialists, creative transformation and creation of an original and unique product of activity, implementation, advocacy and presentation of one's own innovative developments. A professional position, focused on constant personal and professional growth, will always be a qualitative indicator of an effective educational process.
