Abstract

Abstract. The article analyses the European experience of professional self-realisation of future aviation specialists in the process of professional training. The relevance of the topic is determined by the growing demands on the aviation industry, as defined by the strategic documents of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), as well as current trends in digital transformation, the transition to «green technologies», ensuring sustainable development and flight safety. The necessity of developing the ability of higher aviation education seekers to make independent decisions, think critically, engage in innovative activities, communicate interculturally, and pursue continuous professional development as a condition for their successful professional self-realisation is substantiated.

Based on an analysis of strategic documents, regulations and educational programmes of leading European universities, key trends in the modernisation of professional training are traced. Particular attention is paid to the implementation of competence-based approach, the integration of theoretical and practical components, and the development of students' research and communication skills. The experience of European universities that implement comprehensive educational programmes focused on the development of professional competencies, professional self-realisation and the ability to innovate is defined. The content of educational components that form critical thinking, develop communication skills, intercultural competence and the ability to assert oneself professionally is analysed.

It is proven that the successful professional self-realisation of future aviation specialists is ensured by combination of innovative teaching methods, active participation of students in international educational and scientific projects, and the organisation of internships at leading airlines and airports. Synthesis of European experience allows us to identify areas for modernising domestic aviation education in order to implement a scientific and methodological system for the professional self-realisation of future aviation specialists.
